OUR RECORDING SERVICES
In over 50 years of its operational history Finnvox has gained invaluable experience from all kinds of different recording sessions, all the way through classical to heavy metal.
While all of our ten studios offer separated recording booths, bigger recording sessions work best in our B-Studio and F-Studio.
Finnvox offers a wide selection of the finest microphones from vintage to modern day models, available for use in all of our studios.
This collection even includes original and rare microphones from the 60's - all in good condition and everyday use by us and our clients.
The live room in B-Studio is nearly thousand cubic meters in volume, and its legendary acoustics can be heard on thousands of Finnish and international records.
The acoustics of the room can be efficiently modified to serve different recording purposes, all the way from recording a string orchestra to capturing a smashing drum performance. In addition to the main hall there are five additional rooms to separate instruments or vocals while recording.
In B-Studio it is possible to record up to 40 tracks simultaneously. The core of the control room is built around a 24bit/192kHz Avid Pro Tools 12 HDX system and an SSL AWS 900 console, complete with a powerful selection of preamps, EQs and compressors by the most respected manufacturers: NEVE, API, Tube-Tech, Universal Audio and naturally the legendary custom gear designed and built by Tapio Rantanen of Finnvox.
The control room also has a 24-track OTARI MTR 90 Reel tape machine, which can be set in sync with Pro Tools using a timecode.
For film work, B-Studio offers video monitoring in the control room and all the recording rooms. This way the conductor and musicians are able to follow the picture as well while recording music for film.
Situated in the ground-floor with its dedicated kitchen and lounge, F-Studio offers a cosy atmosphere to work with a wide range of recording scenarios.
The recording space consists of a larger 53m2 main room and a separated smaller room. In addition, F-Studio has a small anechoic chamber, mostly used to drive and record loud guitar or bass amplifiers.
The core of the control room consists of a 24bit/192kHz Avid Pro Tools 12 HDX system, ICON D-Command controller and the new Genelec 8341 SAM monitoring system, complete with a powerful selection of preamps, EQs and compressors by the most respected manufacturers: NEVE, API, Tube-Tech, Universal Audio and naturally the legendary custom gear designed and built by Tapio Rantanen of Finnvox.
